Calling Services: Pager Notification


How do I know when I have messages waiting?

  • If you have a display pager, the number "1234" or "769-1234" will appear when you have a message waiting.
  • If you have a tone pager, you will be beeped when you have a message waiting.
To retrieve your messages after being paged, simple dial the access number and follow the prompts.

How do I change my Pager Notification options?

Pager Notification service allows you to access and make changes to your advanced features by dialing one of the following access numbers:

  • Local calling area, dial:
    • 513.769.1234 (OH and Indiana)
    • 859.291.1234 (KY)
    • *966 (see 1 below)
  • Long Distance, dial: 888.382.1234 (see 2 below)
  1. You may dial *966 to access your Mail Box from any local Cincinnati Bell telephone (excluding wireless telephones, payphones, and some business telephone systems).
  2. For calls within the continental United States. Per-minute usage charges ($0.15 per minute) will be applied directly to your account for message retrieval using this number.

Can I choose which messages notify me?

Pager Notification allows you to choose which messages generate notification pages. You can choose from the following options:

  • Receive notification of all messages
  • Receive notification of urgent messages (only)
  • Receive no notification of messages
From the main menu:
Press 2 3 1 and follow the prompts.

Changing Your Pager Number.

If you change your pager number, Pager Notification allows you to transfer your notification pages to your new pager number. Follow these directions to change your pager number:
From the main menu:

  1. Press 2 for Administrative Options.
  2. Press 3 for Pager Notification.
  3. Press 3 for Pager Notification. The system will confirm that your current pager is set up and will repeat the current pager number.
  4. Press 2 to specify a new pager number.
  5. Press 1 for notification to pager number. The system will again confirm that your current pager is set up and will repeat the current pager number.
  6. Press 2 and follow the prompts to enter your new pager number and press #. NOTE: You must enter the number as ten digits, ex. 859.333.1212.
  7. Press * and hang up. Your notification pages will now be sent to your new pager number.
If you experience difficulties changing your pager number, call the Cincinnati Bell Help Desk at 513.565.6006 and press 0 after the instructions begin. Our Help Line service representatives will assist you in setting up your service to send notification pages to your new pager number.
