What is Distinctive Ring?

Distinctive Ring provides up to two additional telephone numbers (two additional numbers available in most areas) with their own special ring that works on your existing telephone line without having to add another telephone line. The special ring lets you know who in the household is being called. If you have Call Waiting, you can even hear a distinctive Call Waiting tone so you can choose whether to answer the second call.

How does Distinctive Ring work?

You will have a telephone number for each distinctive ring:

• Main number: one long ring, one long tone for Call Waiting
• Second number: two short rings, two short tones for Call Waiting
• Third number: short ring, long ring, short ring; short tone, long tone, short tone for Call Waiting
