What is Repeat Dial?

Repeat Dial automatically redials a busy number for up to 30 minutes, allowing you to do other things, even make other calls. A special ring alerts you when the called line is available

What if the Number I'm dialing is busy?

  1. Hang up when you hear a busy signal.
  2. Lift the receiver and listen for dial tone.
  3. Press *66 (Rotary users dial 1166) and hang up. Repeat Dial continues to try the number for 30 minutes.
  4. When the called line becomes free, your telephone will ring with a special ring, two short and one long ring.
  5. When you pick up the telephone, your call is automatically connected.

How do I turn off Repeat Dial?

  1. Pick up the handset and listen for dial tone.
  2. Press *86 (Rotary users dial 1166).
  3. Listen for the cancellation announcement telling you that your Repeat Dial request has been canceled (all of your Repeat Dial requests will be canceled).

If the number you dial is busy

    3. Listen for the cancellation announcement telling you that your Repeat Dial request has been canceled (all of your Repeat Dial requests will be canceled).

    Product Interactions

    • The busy numbers must be within the Cincinnati Bell service area (also Mason or Lebanon).
    • The special ringing pattern created by Repeat Dial may affect the operation of your answering machine, FAX, or modem. Refer to your specific machine's owner's manual to adjust your answering cycle if necessary.
    • You can use your telephone to receive or place other calls while Repeat Dial is activated.
    • If during the 30 minute activation period you can't pick up when you hear the special ring, Repeat Dial will try again in 5 minute intervals. If you have not answer by the third try, your Repeat Dial request will be canceled.
