Calling Services: Single Number Routing

Single Number Routing Service is an application that allows a business with multiple locations to advertise the same number for all locations.

The network routes calls to the business location most appropriate for the calling party, based on their geographic location. The business may choose to route calls based upon the 5-digit zip code or 9-digit zip code of the calling party.

Single Number Routing is recommended for multi-location businesses:

  • Delivery Services (eg. Pizza Delivery)
  • Pickup services that have multiple sites
  • Repair/Dispatch Services (Appliance Repair, Authorized Service Centers)
  • Businesses that want to route calls to a location based on the caller's zip code
  • Professionals that setup appointments at multiple offices

Features

  • Route callers to the nearest store automatically
  • Multi location stores can take customer service calls at each location
  • Send callers to an office based on zip code
  • Use existing or new telephone number as the "single" number

Benefits

  • Customers remember one number to call
  • Customers won't choose the wrong location to call
  • Less call transfers between locations
  • Easier to advertise one number instead of many
  • New locations automatically get phone calls for that geographic area

Availability

Single Number Routing cannot be guaranteed functional unless both the called and calling parties are served by, and the call is routed through, appropriately equipped central offices, and routed over appropriately equipped facilities for calls between such equipped central offices.

In the event that a call originates outside the CBT LATA (Cincinnati Bell Telephone Local Access and Transport Area), CBT will use its best efforts to maintain compatibility with any company required to complete such calls.
